Lea Michele's Smoldering Britney Spears Tribute on "Glee" - The Gossip Girls

Posted Wednesday September 19, 2012 6:00 AM GMT

Channeling her inner sex kitten, Lea Michele performed a smoldering rendition of Britney Spears' " Oops!...I Did It Again" on the upcoming episode of "Glee."

While the show won't be airing until this Thursday (September 20), we have a sneak peek of the spicy song and dance which sees the 26-year-old's Rachel Berry character put on a steamy show while a critical Kate Hudson looks on.

As she readied to film the segment, Miss Michele even told her co-star boyfriend Cory Monteith to come to the set, saying, "Trust me, you don't want to miss this."

While these types of scenes may be awkward for the couple, Lea claims she loves working with her costar and real-life boyfriend, as she recently gushed, “He really, really inspires me, and he motivates me.”

'Glee' Star Lea Michele Preps Debut Album - MTV.com

Lea Michele has belted out some of the biggest ballads as Rachel Berry on "Glee," but now the singer/actress is ready to make some hits of her own. Michele has announced that she is prepping music for her debut album.

"Just had a very exciting music meeting and am proud to announce that im officially on the road to making my first album! I'm so excited!" she tweeted on Tuesday. "There's so much to be thankful for right now. Feeling so blessed and thankful. And I couldn't do it without all of you! Love you guys!"

The announcement comes as the fourth season of "Glee" is underway. After graduating high school last season, Rachel has headed off to New York City to pursue her dreams in musical theater. This week's episode will be its second-ever tribute episode to the pop princess, dubbed "Britney 2.0."

In a teaser released ahead of Thursday's episode, fans got a taste of what Michele will be up to: putting her stamp on Spears' signature 2000 hit, "Oops!...I Did It Again." She performs the tune for her NYADA dance teacher (Kate Hudson) and manages to take the already sexy track and sultry it up by slowing it down and throwing in some "Chicago"-fied jazzy dance moves, all in a skin-tight black leotard.

With Rachel in NYC this season, all of the Gleeks have been spread across the U.S. for the show's latest season, and when MTV News spoke to her she shared how excited she was for the multiple story lines hitting the show.

"You basically have the kids who have graduated and their story lines, as well as the kids back in high school," Michele explained of the multi-location format kicking off this season. "I think it'll be really great because it gives us the opportunity for the characters who have been on the show for a while to move on and to start new story lines, but then the kids who are newer on the show will get to continue on."

Much like her small-screen persona, Michele has roots in musical theater. She kicked off her career in the mid-'90s, starring in "Les Miserables" and later "Ragtime" and "Fiddler on the Roof." Michele was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for her work in "Spring Awakening" and then found Hollywood stardom when she signed onto "Glee" in 2009.

"Growing up on stage, I was introduced to makeup at a young age and I will never forget the first time I tried on a L'Oreal Paris iconic lipstick â€"it was instant glamour and I've been hooked ever since!  I've been a fan of L'Oreal Paris' products for years, but it wasn't until I was a bit older that I fully understood the brand's message of a woman's worth, which I wholeheartedly agree with. L'Oreal Paris encourages women to embrace their beauty and celebrate their self worth.  I feel very honored to be working with L'Oreal Paris to help spread that message to young women," says Lea Michele.

"I am thrilled that Lea joins our roster of amazing spokespersons.  In just a few years, her incredible talent has made her one of the most popular young actresses in a TV series. Lea is committed, genuine, fun with an inspiring sense of style, in total resonance with the brand's values," says Cyril Chapuy, L'Oreal Paris Global Brand President.

"Lea is undeniably one of the most gifted and accomplished women of her generation and a role model to young women everywhere. We are so honored to welcome her as a member of the L'Oreal Paris family.  A beautiful woman inside and out, Lea truly exemplifies our brand philosophy 'Because You're Worth It,'" says Karen T. Fondu, President of L'Oreal Paris USA.

At just eight years old, Lea made her professional debut as Young Cosette in the classic Broadway production Les Miserables. Since then, she has shared the stage with Broadway greats in Ragtime, Fiddler on the Roof and Spring Awakening, earning herself a Drama Desk Award nomination for "Outstanding Actress in a Musical" for her role in Spring Awakening.

Lea is perhaps best known for her role in the critically-acclaimed, Fox TV television series Glee, which returned this month for its fourth season. Throughout her role as Rachel, Lea has received a People's Choice Award, a Teen Choice Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. She has also been honored with an Emmy Award nomination and two Golden Globe nominations.

In addition to her role on Glee, Lea has performed solo concerts to sold-out crowds in New York and Los Angeles and has lent her vocal talents to two feature films. In 2011, Lea starred in the romantic comedy New Year's Eve and in 2013, Lea will star in Summertime Entertainment's animated 3D film Dorothy of Oz, providing vocals on several original numbers. Lea's talents span the entertainment industry, but when she is not performing she dedicates her time to supporting causes close to her heart.

Today, Lea joins the L'Oreal Paris Spokespersons family, including Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce Knowles, Julianna Margulies, Eva Longoria, Andie MacDowell, Freida Pinto and Aimee Mullins, among others. Lea Michele will debut in TV and print advertising campaigns for the leading global beauty brand beginning in the United States in early 2013.

Glee's Lea Michele Is All Grown Up On And Ready To Be The Face Of Loreal Paris - Cinema Blend

published: 2012-09-17 21:28:32

Glee’s Lea Michele has landed a big spokesperson deal. The bubbly TV star’s character has recently moved to college, helping her fans to see the 26-year-old actress as the bright, beautiful woman she is. Today, the actress was named the new face of L’Oréal Paris, and both the company and the actress feel the collaboration will be the perfect fit.

Michele recently spoke to People to discuss how some platforms that are important to herself, as well as the whole cast and crew of Glee, are also important to the beauty product company.

“I’m so thankful to be a part of a television show that promotes inner beauty and self-worth. Now to be a part of this amazing family that expresses the same amazing message is such an honor.”

She also made sure to mention she uses all of the company’s products, and yada, yada, yada, but at least that last part of the message seems to be coming from the right place. I wish just once, however, that people would be honest and just admit they are doing a promotional deal for the money and the free product. As much as I dream about that hilarious moment, I should probably not be rooting for a gal to throw good money down the drain.

This deal has likely been in the works for a while, but if it had not been, I would say the recent photos of a sultry, very much grown-up Michele from the “Britney 2.0” episode of Glee might have done a lot to be convincing. In the photos, Michele dances around on the top of the table as she tries to convince guest star Kate Hudson she has the chops to make it in the big leagues. Apparently, L’Oréal Paris didn’t need that kind of convincing.

'Glee' Update: Lea Michele and Darren Criss Dish On Season Four Shake-ups - Hollywood.com

Glee Lea Michele Chris Colfer

From an outsider’s perspective, people must think that Glee has some seriously strange character names: Finchel, Brittana, Klaine, Wemma etc. But to the lucky millions few in the loop, we know that these names represent our favorite relationships. In fact we’re often so invested in these couples we sometimes forget that these characters actually have lives and outsides of their “ships.”

Hollywood.com caught up with the lovely Lea Michele and the dashing Darren Criss at last week's Glee premiere and we’re still giddy from their scoop. Not only did the two dish on their shipper statuses, but they also teased what's coming up for their individual characters. Yay for character development! So who is Michele hoping will also join her in NYC? And what is next for Blaine now that he’s alone in Lima? Keep on reading and we’ll tell you…

At the end of last week’s season premiere fans were elated to see Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Rachel (aka HummelBerry) have been reunited and are ready to tackle the Big Apple one Broadway musical at a time. And it was wonderful to see that Michele is just as excited as Rachel to have Kurt in NYC, “I love love love love living with Kurt!” Michele gushed, “I love our apartment, it’s so cool. I love working with Chris, and I just wouldn’t have it any other way.” That’s right! Our favorite non-dating duo will be on the hunt for a new apartment this week and believe us when we say, their new place is pretty freaking sweet.

But of course leave it to Michele to think of a way to make an amazing situation even better. The actress smiles, “Now we just need to find a way to get Naya [Rivera] to come and live with us as well… and have Santana live in New York.” Hey? Are you all right out there Santana lovers? We just figured that last bit of scoop might have made you pass out from extreme excitement.

Michele has gifted you with plenty of positive Finchel scoop over the past week both here and here, but she also made sure to clarify some things on the new Brodchel friendship that’s blooming. “I really like Brody (Dean Geyer), but really what happens between Rachel and Finn (Cory Monteith) doesn’t have anything to do with Brody. He doesn’t really get in between them and I think that’s really the misconception,” Michele explains. “ What happens between Rachel and Finn really just happens on their own.”

Fans will be seeing Finn sooner then you’d expect, but whether or not is a happy reunion is something that we cannot reveal just yet. Michele wants viewers to know that although the words Finchel and forever go hand-in-hand, she also really enjoys seeing Rachel with a sense of independence. “I really love Rachel in a relationship, but I also really love Rachel just single and strong. I don’t know if that’s going to be the case with her this season, but if it is I know that she is going to be okay.”

Glee Chris Colfer Darren Criss

Now that Kurt has left for NYC, one half of our beloved Klaine is still stuck in high school. Although we’d like to believe that everything will be just peachy for the two guys, Criss says that all long-distance relationships have their difficult moments. “It’s tough for Blaine. Kurt is now gone and he needs to fill his time with something” Criss admits. “On a more positive note, Kurt’s absence makes Blaine a bit more ambitious with his time and with what he wants to do at McKinley… So he starts running for Student Body President, joins a bunch of clubs, he just goes a little power hungry.” Uh-oh!

Many fans have been wondering what happened to the sweet little Warbler we first met dancing in the halls of Dalton Academy. Well we can let you in on a little secret, Criss has been wondering the same thing! The 25-year-old says, “I read the first episode and I was like what’s going on? Tina is really mean, Blaine is really sassy. And I’m like what happened to the nice guy that we met in the second season?”

Now that his beau has left Lima, Criss reveals what’s coming up for the “new Rachel” of The New Directions. “Blaine is much more maniacal then he was in the last couple seasons. He used to be this charismatic nice guy and now he has kind of gone off the deep end as Kurt is gone. So for better or worse, Blaine has gone a little crazy,” He says.

One normal thing that fans can expect from Blaine is plenty more bromance moments with the other McKinley men. Criss talks about a new song, (that many of you have already been obsessing over) in this week’s Britney-themed episode. “Blaine and Artie do a mash-up of “Boys” by Britney Spears and “Boyfriend” by Justin Bieber so that’s really silly.” Criss continues, “He and Sam (Chord Overstreet) partner up for something by the third episode that’s pretty cool so that’s a major bromance.” Squee! In the end Criss says that these somewhat drastic changes to his character are just a normal part of life, “In high school people change, and come senior year he’s a different person. I don’t know where it’s going but he is going a little nuts.”

You can catch an all-new Glee Thursday at 9 PM on FOX.

How are you feeling about Blaine’s personality changes? Are you thrilled at the idea of Santana in NYC? Would you like to see Rachel on her own this year or is it Finchel forever? Tell us each and every one of your thoughts in the comments below!
